If you don't submit verified proof by your deadline, your staked photo will be automatically sent to your designated contact via text message. The photo is then permanently deleted from our servers.
No. After you take your photo, you'll only see a blurred preview. This uncertainty is part of what makes LostAura so effective—you can only imagine how bad it looks, which amplifies your motivation.
When you submit proof, our AI analyzes your photo and compares it to your goal description. We're intentionally lenient—if you made a genuine effort and the photo reasonably relates to your goal, it'll pass. We reward effort, not perfection.
You can resubmit as many times as you want before your deadline. If your proof is rejected, we'll tell you why so you can take a better photo.
Yes, you can cancel any active commitment through Settings → Manage Commitments. We'll ask why you're canceling (to help us improve), and you'll need to type "CANCEL" to confirm. Your photo will be permanently deleted.
It's permanently deleted from our servers immediately. We don't keep copies. Your photo only existed to motivate you—once you've succeeded, it's gone forever.
Yes. All photos are encrypted with AES-256 before storage. Encryption keys are stored separately from photo files. We use industry-standard security practices and never use your photos for marketing, training, or any other purpose.
Yes. Every message includes an option to reply STOP to opt out of future messages from LostAura. If they've opted out, you'll need to choose a different contact for future commitments.
LostAura offers a 3-day free trial. After that, it's $5/month for unlimited commitments. You can cancel anytime through your App Store account settings.
Your active commitments remain valid until their deadlines. You just won't be able to create new commitments until you resubscribe.
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to use LostAura. This is because the app involves signing legal consent and financial transactions.
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your data, including any stored photos, will be permanently deleted within 24 hours. Active commitments will be cancelled without consequence.
